It’s just life

For the ultimate reading experience, hit play on the song above. A good song plays a huge role in the way I’m able to write and put my thoughts down in front of me. It gives the words an even deeper feeling. To listen to the full song, save it to your spotify.

I don’t know if it’s because I’m about to turn 30, or because baby number 3 is on the way, but it really is the most wild feeling when you can feel everything start to shift in your life. Your priorities, the things that matter most, the pieces that truly fill you up. When everything starts to align and feel like it all makes sense.

Coffee while the early morning sun peeks through the trees that surround your house, still getting butterflies when he gets home from work, only now it’s not just me getting that warm fuzzy feeling, but our babies running to greet him at the door. The way I feel like a weight is lifted by his hug.

When you can look at your life and see your dream shaping into your actual reality, that’s true, genuine wealth. Not the things you can buy, the brands you can afford, the big house with the perfectly manicured lawn, but the feeling of peace and complete and total satisfaction with your current state of being. Like you can finally breathe.

When the biggest comfort comes from the embrace of your little family that you’re building, the steadiness and calm you feel from your person when you talk about life and goals you still want to chase after together — that’s my idea of rich.

The thing is, you have to learn to be okay with the moments that don’t always feel this way. Life isn’t going to be a constant steady flow of everything feeling perfect — there will be seasons and moments that are SO hard, that feel like they are going to break you, but you have to learn to welcome those moments with a warm hug too. Almost like you’re telling them that it’s okay for them to exist, and that you appreciate what they’re doing for you in your journey.

It’s all about building a strong foundation for you life, a safe place to always land and seek shelter when the rough moments do creep in, knowing that the sun and the warmth will come back, you just have to learn to be calm during the storm too. Finding that steady love, whatever that looks like for you.

These sweet moments of bliss and satisfaction wouldn’t feel as good if they didn’t have the contrast of struggle to compare them to — it wouldn’t be a balanced and full life if all you ever got was the perfect, pain free, watered down version. Wouldn’t you rather have all the depth and layers that make you feel human, instead of just living on the surface and coasting through life without any real experiences?

I believe with life and time, this shift and alignment kind of naturally happens, but only if you give it the room and space to unfold, to fall into place. Try not to outrun the painful parts, don’t tense up when you can feel a new struggle start to arise, but instead learn to ride those moments like a tidal wave, allow them bring you into the next beautiful chapter of your life. I promise you fulfilling things are waiting.
